Couples Therapy
Compassionate professional therapy for committed partnerships of every shape.
How we work
Most couples work quietly assumes two people, monogamous, aiming at a narrow picture of “healthy.” If that’s not your relationship, you can feel the assumption in the room — the small corrections, the beat of hesitation, the sense that the structure itself is what’s being evaluated.
It isn’t, here. We work with partnerships of every shape — one, two, or more — and every orientation, on the problem you actually walked in with.
Dr. Fisher puts the whole of relationship work on two legs, and we build from both with you. Curiosity, because most conflict is two people who’ve quietly stopped being interested in each other’s inner weather. And kindness — which she means more precisely than the word usually gets used:
The work draws on established couples methods, including the Gottman Method — decades of actually watching what helps partners repair, hear each other, and stay connected — applied without a monogamy default.[1]
When the harder things are present — betrayal, coercive control, the specific damage of narcissistic-abuse dynamics — we don’t rename them “communication problems.” We bridge to our Trauma & Recovery work (EMDR, narcissistic-abuse recovery) and treat them as what they are.
Kindness complements curiosity by creating a therapeutic atmosphere of warmth, patience, and unconditional positive regard. It acknowledges the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, offering support without judgment or coercion.
